The MATRIX series is built for the public address and public address systems of large, distributed sites: shopping complexes, factories, airports, logistics terminals and multi-section business centres. Unlike ordinary mixer amplifiers, matrix models can broadcast different content to different zones at the same time — background music can play in the retail area, work announcements in the technical rooms and a separate programme in the offices. Cascading up to 6 amplifiers into one network expands the system to 36 independent zones.
The VPA-MRX 6120 is a matrix amplifier delivering 6 × 120 W over an 80 Hz – 18 kHz range. Housing 430 × 330 × 90 mm, 7.00 kg. It routes multiple audio sources to up to 36 zones for public address and broadcast audio systems.
The VPA-MRX 6240 is a matrix amplifier delivering 6 × 240 W over an 80 Hz – 18 kHz range. Housing 430 × 330 × 90 mm, 7.60 kg. It routes multiple audio sources to up to 36 zones for public address and broadcast audio systems.
The VPA-MRX 636 is a remote paging console for the VPA-MRX 6120 and VPA-MRX 6240 matrix amplifiers: 6 zones, cascadable up to 36 zones, USB / Bluetooth / AUX sources, connected over CAT6 at distances up to 1 km.
VPA-MRX 6120 — 6 channels × 120 W = 720 W total output
VPA-MRX 6240 — 6 channels × 240 W = 1440 W (the top model for the longest lines)
VPA-MRX 636 — remote paging console with zone selection, a USB player, Bluetooth and an AUX input; connects to the amplifier over CAT6 at up to 1000 metres
Features of matrix systems
Each of the six channels works independently and can take a signal from any source — the built-in media player, line-level AUX inputs or VPA-MRX 636 remote paging consoles. Connecting the paging console over CAT6 twisted pair at up to 1 kilometre lets you place the operator's panel anywhere convenient on site — at a security post or in the control room, for example. For public address systems serving venues with large occupancy a matrix architecture is essential, because it provides separate announcements for each evacuation zone.
